Search Just Got a Major Upgrade
Today we rolled out a broad set of improvements to Charlton Tales search and results pages,
focused on clarity, speed, and better discovery.
What’s New
- Cleaner, smarter search form that shows only fields relevant to the selected search type.
- New Start Over action to quickly clear criteria and begin a fresh search.
- Better mobile behavior and layout refinements across search and results views.
- Improved results header and controls for less clutter and easier use.
- Pagination with flexible page sizes (
25 / 50 / 100), plus saved preference support.
- Sorting improvements and clearer controls.
- Export upgrades so PDF/XLSX respect current filters and sort logic.
- Enhanced “no results” recovery with Did you mean, Related Matches, and guided suggestions.
- Better deep-linking and prefill support to return to search with prior criteria.
- Shareable search links and saved searches for faster repeat use.
- Multiple quality and stability fixes in search SQL and edge-case handling.
- Search analytics improvements for tracking real usage patterns and tuning over time.
This is a strong foundation, and we’ll continue refining relevance as more live search data comes in.

Redesign
CharltonTales has been redesigned to offer a more modern, user-friendly experience. The new layout features improved navigation, enhanced search tools, and clearer access to comic book data, making research and discovery easier for collectors and enthusiasts.
There are still enhancements to search coming.
I will also be redoing my admin section so that I can update everything on the site - not just a subset.

Fixes to home page.
Several things decided to break all at once! I fixed them and also an issue that was making the homepage load slowly. I think all is good for now. If you see any issues feel free to contact us. Thanks!

Welcome!
After many long hours building this and many long hours to go, charltontales.com is now live. Obviously there are years of work still to do but there is also a ton of fun to go along with it. Come back often to watch the data set grow and the images fill in.

Site Coming Along
I have uploaded hundreds of covers with hundreds more already in reserve waiting their turn. I want to release the site but there are some issues because of the lack of cover images. I also want to redesign a little before making live. COMING SOON!
