The Perfect Planet!
Notes: In this story, it is the year 2300 and "Earth has suddenly slipped
from its age-old orbit around the sun and now circles closer and
closer to the flaming mass! Man must find a new planet on which to
live or starve in the white-hot rays of the sun..."
Explorers return from exploring space to report that they have not found a habitable planet, though they mention they didn't get around to exploring a satellite of Venus. Unfortunately the spaceships are all spent. They finally resort to retrieving an old derelict spaceship from the museum. They land on the planet and it is a Garden of Eden. However, the spaceship was damaged in landing. They can't fly back to tell Earth of their discovery and sadly their radio can't send signals all the way to earth. Worst of all, only four male astronauts had made the journey, so it looks like the end of the human race. After the last panel: "Don't miss the astounding sequel to this tale...'The Great Migration'...in the next issue of MYSTIC!" However, you won't find that story in the next issue of Mystic. Instead you have to jump over to Astonishing 27 - Oct 1953 - Chris Brown. |
