Wilson 23," suggesting that the original plan was to cancel either Nellie the Nurse Comics or Willie Comics and
continue its numbering for the new title; these were the only titles where issue 22 had an early 1950 cover date.
Further evidence for this change is the issue number on the cover, which appears to be a paste-up by virtue of its
lighter background.
