My Radio Romance!
Notes: [This] story bears evidence that it was not originally intending for this venue: scribbled below the splash in tiny letters is "Jr. Miss #38." Up through #37 (Dec 1949), Junior Miss had been identical to Miss America in format -- teen humor and generic romance comics mixed with illustrated text stories, recipes, fashion tips, etc. But starting with #38, which carried a May 1950 cover date, Junior Miss featured Fuffy Adams and Judy Graves from the "Junior Miss" radio program. I'm guessing this was meant for #38 in its original configuration, but got displaced to the sister magazine when its format changed. Frankly, given the book shifted to radio show characters, I think this story would've been a natural as a generic romance back-up! - Tom Lammers.
