Notes: This is a wish fulfillment tale about Americans winning the war by sending a dud missile into Moskow -- the bomb doesn't go off and the Russian premier shoots himself in the head, ending the Cold War. What killed him? Fear! Because the bomb actually didn't contain any explosives. - John Kaminski
It's 1975 and the world is on the brink
of a war which will destroy mankind. The Russian president Zoltinoff* is so convinced that
the `capitalist beasts' will destroy them, that he announces to launch an attack on them. "I
know I have the support of my loyal subjects... and those who don't support me will be
shot on sight!" At the United Nations Headquarters the military commanders meet to
discuss if they have to launch a nuclear strike first. The scientists suggests another
approach. They launch a single rocket, which doesn't detonate, but gets stuck in the
ground somewhere in the Soviet. Zoltinoff arrives and first thing he does is have a few
peasants killed so they know they aren't allowed to touch the bomb. His scientists argue
what type of bomb it is... a delayed action nuclear strike... a chemical bomb killing them
as they speak... or does it have a death ray on board? The Russians are so scared of this
unidentified bomb, that 40.000 people commit suicide and the army rebels. When the
complete air force flies to Britain to surrender, Zoltinoff commits suicide as well. His
second in command sends a telegram to the United Nations to tell them they have won the
cold war. And what was in the bomb? Well, nothing of course. As a scientist explains... "No
weapon on earth can ever defeat fear!"
* Sounds like DC regular and cartoonist Boltinoff.

Notes: May have been inspired by Albert Camus' story The Plague. It's a wierd story about a French man who tries to save his beloved wax doll from getting the fatal disease. But she gets it anyway and they are united in the grave. - Doc V.

Notes: Great tale about a man who wants to fly and finds a way to stop gravity. A reporter friend of his reminds him too late that gravity is what keeps the earth together.
