Too Human

Notes: Famous chess wizard Blanik just can't seem to win. He is a good player, but doesn't belong to the top class. He invents a set of thinking chess pieces, which are so human that they can think for themselves. Unfortunately, at the end of the game, his king can't kill the opposing queen... he has become too human. - Ger A.

Stumblebum

Notes: Harvey Croy wants to spend Christmas in jail -- at least they serve turkey there. He throws a rock through a window, but causes a burglar to be caught. He pulls a fire alarm... and saves a building that had just started to burn. He finds a lucky coin, but gives it to a hungry woman and her child. A man sees this and gives him an invitation to a Christmas party. But to get there, Harvey has to use the subway... and he has no token. He jumps the turnstiles and ends up in jail...just in time for his Christmas dinner. - Ger A.

First Prize!

Notes: Joe Ganby has won the Saturn Lucky Slogan contest -- some of the leaflets had accidentally gotten down to Earth from Saturn (and back again). The first prize is a healthy Saturnian butler. Joe explains that he thought it was a contest from Saturn, Illinois, but a winner is a winner and he is left with his prize, a froglike butler. The novelty quickly wears off, but he can't get rid of his servant. When he calls the police to get him, the butler just erects an invisible wall around the house. Fortunately Joe remembers that he has sent in his copy of the contest too late to have arrived in time on Saturn, so they must take the prize back and give it to the number two... Joe's neighbor. I am just curious what the winning slogan was... - Ger A.
